Fall colors are my absolute favorite of the year!  I really love the various shades of reds and burnt oranges.  And the oak leaf is perfect for displaying those colors.  Nowadays it’s easy to find fall themed cookie cutters in the store, so get some and experiment!

Items Needed:

Sugar Cookie

Brown Icing (in a bag with #2 tip)

Yellow Flood Icing (in a bottle)

Orange Flood Icing (in a bottle)

Red Flood Icing (in a bottle)

Toothpick

#1 – Start with an oak leaf cutout cookie.

#2 – Using brown icing, pipe a line down the middle of the cookie, and then pipe veins on either side of the line.  Let cookie dry completely.

#3 – Starting in the middle of the cookie along the brown, add yellow flood icing.  Immediately continue with next color.

#4 – Add touches of orange flood icing,  along side and touching the yellow icing.  Immediately continue with next color.

#5 – With red flood icing, add spots of color along the outside edges of the 2 previous colors.  Immediately continue to next step.

#6 – With a toothpick, swirl the colors together.

#7 – Let dry completely, usually overnight.

HAPPY DECORATING! – Linda
